1992/1993 | |||||||||||
World Championship (17 Apr - 3 May 1993)
Final | Jimmy White (a) | 5 | - | 18 | Stephen Hendry (a) | The third time since the championship moved to the Crucible, and to date the last, that the title was settled in the afternoon with a session to spare. The previous two were in 1983 and 1989. Ganley refereed his last of four World Snooker Championship finals since 1983, including 1990 when Stephen Hendry became the youngest World Champion. Another career highlights were the 1983 UK Championship final between Alex Higgins and Steve Davis and Ronnie O'Sullivan's fastest 147 against Mick Price in the first round of 1997 World Championship.

1993/1994 | |||||||||||
World Championship (16 Apr - 2 May 1994)
Final | Jimmy White (a) | 17 | - | 18 | Stephen Hendry (a) | Hendry won his third consecutive world title and his fourth in five years. This achievement was all the more remarkable because he played every match after the first round with a broken elbow. This was White's fifth consecutive final appearance, his fourth against Hendry, and his sixth overall. In the decider, White was leading 37-24 but missed a black off the spot, and Hendry cleared up. This was White's last appearance in a World Championship final and the closest he ever came to winning the tournament.
